Plain Earns Second Pac-12 Pitcher Of The Week Honor

SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference announced Gabbie Plain as the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. This is the second Pitcher of the Week award this season for Plain and fifth weekly award of her career. Plain joins Madison Huskey as a weekly award winner this week, with Huskey earning Freshman of the Week.
Last week, Plain picked up her 14th and 15th wins of the year, allowing only one earned run in 13 innings of work against #23 Arizona State. Plain struck out 22 Sun Devils to help Washington to its fourth consecutive Pac-12 series sweep. The sophomore ended the series with her 15th career shutout, allowing only three hits.
Plain was also named the Pac-12 and NFCA National Pitcher of the Week earlier this season after recording back-to-back no-hitters. Last season, she earned three Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors from the conference.
Plain joins Taran Alvelo as the only active Huskies to have earned multiple Pac-12 Player or Pitcher of the Week awards.
