
Huskies Sign Two to 2020 Roster

SEATTLE --- Washington women's tennis head coach Robin Stephenson announced a pair of top-rated signees to the UW program as Sarah-Maude Fortin (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and Yolanda Lin (Sammamish, WA) signed National Letters of Intent to join the Huskies in 2020.

Fortin is one of Canada's top junior players, winning a Canadian national championship in singles and reaching the finals three times. She is also a four-time Canadian doubles national champion and has represented Canada in Junior Fed Cup. She has been ranked in the Top 180 in the ITF Junior Rankings and qualified for 60K WTA event, also holding a UTR rating as high as 11.04. In competition, she has defeated three top 60 ITF juniors and a top 500 WTA player. She also won ITF G4 in singles and has won G4, G3 and G2 ITF doubles titles.

"Sarah-Maude has a very strong work ethic and a desire to be the best she can be which is what impresses me the most about her," said Stephenson. "She is a very athletic and dynamic player that will contribute immediately and make a huge difference in our lineup and program. She will be a fun player to work with and has all of the tools to be as good as she wants to be. Sarah-Maude is a great student and a high character person, and we are thrilled she has chosen to be a Husky. She has a bright future here at UW!"

Lin is from Sammamish and is a five-star, blue chip recruit rated as high as No. 21 nationally in her class by Tennis Recruiting Network and the top-ranked player in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest for four-straight years. The Skyline High School product won the girls 18s sectional championship this year and has recorded several wins over top 10 players. Lin also has held a UTR rating as high as 11.07.

"Yolanda's energy and passion for the game and the team will be contagious. She is an unbelievable student and her work ethic on and off the court is a very high level. She has the right mindset for our program and is hungry to compete and train to get better every day. She's a tough competitor that is always finding ways to win and will make a big impact immediately on and off the court for us."
