Wong Falls in Qualifying Finals

TULSA, Okla. --- Washington junior Vanessa Wong's run at the ITA All-American Championships came to an end on Tuesday, as she lost her match in the finals of the qualifying round. Wong suffered a tough 6-2, 6-4 decision to Anastasia Smirnova of Rice. Wong had earned a victory on Monday, beating Safiya Carrington of LSU in a three-set match in the semifinals.
The Huskies open up the home portion of the fall schedule, hosting Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Portland State in the Husky Invitational Friday through Sunday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
