June 18, 2018 | Softball
DURHAM, N.C. - Former Washington Husky All-American Kylee Lahners was named to the USA Baseball National Team Monday. Lahners will compete for the United States at the Women's Baseball World Cup in Viera, Florida this August.
Lahners played with Husky softball from 2012 to 2015, helping Washington take third at the 2013 Women's College World Series. Lahners was named an All-American in 2014 and was All-Region three times. The California native was named to the All-Pac-12 Team all four of her years, including two First Team honors.
Lahners is fourth all-time in Husky history in home runs and walks. Her career on-base percentage of .436 is 11th in UW history, while her .641 slugging percentage is fifth all-time. She is one of only five Huskies ever to record multiple 15-homer seasons, knocking 16 in 2015 and 17 in 2014.
Lahners is the fourth Husky to represent Team USA on the diamond this year. She joins Ali Aguilar, Sis Bates, and Courtney Gano, who are all a part of the USA Softball National Team. Husky alumni Danielle Lawrie, Victoria Hayward, and Jenn Salling all play for Team Canada in softball, while current Huskies Taran Alvelo and Morganne Flores and incoming freshman Francesca Torraca represent Puerto Rico in international competition.
