SEATTLE --- Junior Carl Yuan and sophomore Henry Lee have been selected to compete as individuals at the 2018 NCAA Stockton Regional at The Reserve at Spanos Park, May 14-16.
The pair will be competing for one individual berth from the regional to the NCAA National Championship, May 25-30 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
"Both deserve their spot at the Regionals for the good seasons they have had," said Washington Head Coach Alan Murray. "It will be tough to qualify for the finals, but they have earned the opportunity to do so and both will be playing to win. I'm excited to see how they do."
Yuan led the Huskies with a 71.32 shot average through 10 events this year. He placed in the top 10 in four of those including three top five finishes and posted six rounds in the 60s. Despite missing a pair of competitions, Yuan also recorded the most rounds below par with 15 on the season.
Yuan's best finish of the season came last week at the Pac-12 Championships in Los Angeles as he finished as the runner-up with a 12-under-par 272, recording a score below par in each of the four rounds.
Lee had the team's second-best stroke average at 72.43 and appeared in all 12 events for the Huskies this season. He had two Top 10 finishes on the season, placing sixth in season-opening Inverness Intercollegiate in Toledo, Ohio, and seventh overall at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas in March.
Lee finished second on the team with 13 rounds below and carded three rounds in the 60s on the season.
