April 28, 2018 | Football
Three more Huskies were selected on the third and final day of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Will Dissly was selected by the Seahawks in the fourth round, while Azeem Victor and Keishawn Bierria were chosen by the Raiders and the Broncos, respectively, with back-to-back picks in the sixth round.
Dissly, a tight end from Bozeman, Mont., began his UW career as a defensive lineman. The former Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Montana moved to offense at the end of his sophomore season in 2015, and spent both 2016 and 2017 in that role. After catching just four passes as a junior in 2016, he made 21 receptions for 289 yards and two TDs as a senior. After seeing action in six games as a freshman, he played in all 40 over the last three seasons, starting 17.
He was widely praised by draft pundits as the top blocking tight end on the board this year.
Bierria, a linebacker from Carson, Calif., was a two-time, second-team All-Pac-12 selection, earning that honor as a junior and senior. He played in all 54 games of his UW career, starting 43 of them. In four seasons, Bierria compiled 242 total tackles, including 19.5 for a loss.
As a junior in 2016, he led the national (and tied the UW record) with five fumble recoveries. He recovered a school-record-tying eight fumbles, and forced another five, during his Husky career.
Victor, a linebacker from Compton, Calif., played in 44 games during his Husky career, compiling 197 total tackles, including 14 for loss. As a junior in 2016, he earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors desipite missing four games due to injury.
Earlier in the draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected UW defensive tackle Vita Vea with the 12th overall pick in the first round, while wide receiver and punt returner Dante Pettis was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round, 44th overall.
Washington had five drafted players for the second year in row, the Huskies' highest total in a single draft since 2001.
