Women's Tennis Signs Zoey Weil and Ashley Chang

SEATTLE --- University of Washington women's tennis head coach Robin Stephenson signed two players on signing day as part of the 2019 class. Zoey Weil will join the Dawgs for the spring of 2019, while Ashley Chang will begin her time as a Husky in the fall of 2019.

Weil who is from Columbus, Ohio, attends Centennial High School and is rated as a 4-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net. She is ranked 38th in her class by the Dunlop RPI and as the 71st player in her class by Tennis Recruiting. She is also the second ranked player in her home state of Ohio. Weil holds a 20-3 record against 4-star players and a 9-8 record against 5-star players.
In May, Weil reached the semifinals of the Girls 18 Singles at the USTA National Level 3 Tournament as well as winning the doubles tournament title. Later in May, Weil won the USTA National Level 2 Tournament doubles title. Following up in June, Weil won the USTA Midwest Level 1 Closed Championships.

The Huskies also signed Ashley Chang from Toronto, Canada. Chang holds a 2-1 record vs 5-star recruits and 2-0 record against 4-stars.
In April, Chang reached the doubles semifinals at the 36th All Canadian Junior Championships. Chang then reached the Round of 32 of the Prince George's County International Hard Court in August. Chang reached the quarterfinals at the 33rd Los Caballeros Junior Tournament in September. Previously Chang had made it to the Round of 16 at the Hong Kong ITF Junior Tournament.
