Women's Tennis 2017 Fall Preview
August 25, 2017 | Women's Tennis
SEATTLE โ In preparation for the 2018 season, Washington women's tennis released its 2017 fall schedule on Friday, which features a home tournament in addition to up to four road trips.
On Oct. 13-15, Washington is hosting the Husky Invite. Oregon, Portland and Idaho will all be participating in that tournament. That will be followed by the Kansas Invite on Oct. 27-29 in Lawrence, Kansas, which will feature Kansas, Texas Tech and Auburn in addition to Washington. The final tournament is the Jack Kramer Club Invitational on Nov. 2-5 in Los Angeles, California.
The Huskies have the opportunity to participate in two additional tournaments this fall. The All-Americans and the National Championship, which start on Sept. 30 and Nov. 1, respectively, are by invitation or qualification.
From the 2016-17 roster that advanced to the NCAA tournament, Washington returns all but one letterwinner after losing Nour Abbes to graduation. The Huskies will also welcome freshman Vanessa Wong to the team. Additionally, junior Stacey Fung looks to build off last season's success. She finished the year ranked No. 34 and led the team in total singles wins with 24.
