
Batt-Doyle Takes 7th At World University Games

SEATTLE - Husky senior Izzi Batt-Doyle went long distance to run another 10,000-meters race today, as she raced for her native Australia at the World University Games in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. Batt-Doyle should be one of the top Dawgs this fall when cross country season opens with the UW-Seattle U Dual on Sept. 1 and the Sundodger Invitational on Sept. 16.
Today in Taipei, the native of Adelaide, Australia finished seventh in the 10k in a time of 34:32.13. During her junior track season, Batt-Doyle stepped up to the 10k for the first time at the Pac-12 Championships, taking fourth in 33:35.19 and going to No. 6 on the Husky top-10 list in the event. She went on to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and finished 12th in the finals, earning Second Team All-America honors.
