SEATTLE – The University of Washington men's golf team announced its schedule for the 2017-18 season, which includes five events in the fall and seven in the spring.
"I'm really excited about the schedule," said head coach Alan Murray. "We will see a great combination of championship golf courses and elite competition. We'll play nationwide and our team will be exposed to different conditions, grasses and tournament tests which ultimately is going to make them more experienced, versatile players and help their games develop."
The Huskies open the fall campaign Sept. 11-12 when they travel to Kiawah Island, SC to compete in the Invitational at the Ocean Course. Washington closes out the month in Toledo, Ohio to participate in the Inverness Intercollegiate Sept. 18-19.
Beginning with the Nike Collegiate Invitational Oct. 1-3 in North Plains, Ore., Washington sees action in three tournaments in October. The Huskies continue play Oct. 9-10 at the Alister MacKenzie in Fairfax, Calif., before wrapping up the fall season at the Warrior Wave Invitational from Oct. 29-31 in Princeville, Hawaii.
The spring campaign will feature seven invitationals, opening with the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson Jan 29-30. At last year's 16-team event, Washington defeated No. 8 Texas A&M and four Pac-12 foes to finish in a tie for third place.
