SEATTLE -- University Washington's senior infielder, Ali Β Aguilar, took home Most Outstanding Player honors after Washington hosted its 11thΒ NCAA Division I Women's Softball Championship Regional. Aguilar helped the sixth seeded Huskies (46-11) into the Super Regional round which will begin on Friday, May 26 at 8 p.m. PT at Husky Softball Stadium.Β
Aguilar, a shortstop, from Orangevale, Calif., led all players in the four-team, double elimination tournament with a .625 (5-for-8) batting average. Two of her eight hits were home runs, driving in four RBIs and totaling six runs on the weekend.
Washington led all teams with seven players selected to the All-Regional team. Michigan (43-13-1) had four representatives and Fresno State (35-23) had one.
