
Huskies Fall To Oregon In Game Two Of Series

EUGENE, Ore. – No. 12 Washington (30-10, 7-7 Pac-12) fell to No. 4 Oregon (37-3, 10-3 Pac-12), 4-1, Friday night at Jane Sanders Stadium.
Five Huskies collected one hit apiece.
In the first inning, Ali Aguilar was hit by a pitch from Oregon starter Megan Kleist (13-1) to get on base. Sis Bates followed with a single, advancing Aguilar to second, and Casey Stangel hit an RBI single up the middle to give the Huskies the early, 1-0 lead.
The Ducks stole the momentum in the bottom of the third, scoring three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Starter Taran Alvelo put two on base and a throwing error by Taylor Van Zee allowed Danica Mercado to score from second. The Ducks added two more runs to take the lead, scoring on a two-run single from Nikki Udria.
Oregon tacked on another run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it a 4-1 lead. Alexis Mack led off with a single and stole second. She was plated on a throwing error by catcher Morganne Flores.
Madi Schreyer came in as relief for Alvelo in the fourth inning. The Husky pitching staff combined for six strikeouts on the night.
The Huskies look to win the series tomorrow as they wrap up the weekend in Eugene on Sunday with a 12 p.m. start. The game will be aired live on the Pac-12 Network.
