
Fultz Earns Pac-12 All-Conference and All-Freshman Team Honors

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. â University of Washington freshman Markelle Fultz was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team and the All-Freshman Team, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.
Freshman Markelle Fultz is the second Husky to be named to the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team since 2012 after finishing the 2016-17 regular season as the league's leading scorer, averaging 23.2 points. Huskies have led the league in scoring now for two straight years as Andrew Andrews led a year ago with 21.2 points. Fultz's 23.2 are the most by a Pac-12 player following the regular season in 20 years as Ed Gray from Cal led the league with 24.8 points per game in 1996-97.
Fultz is the nation's leading freshman scorer at 23.2 which ranks fifth overall. Additionally, UW freshman scoring leader at 579 career points is the first guard in 25 years to average 20 points, five rebounds and five assists per game while shooting 40.0 percent from 3-point range. Â Â
The freshman has recorded 10 games of at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists this season which is the most by a Husky player under Romar. It is the most 20-5-5 games by a player averaging over 20 points in the NCAA this season.
The 11th-seeded Huskies open the 2016 Pac-12 Tournament against six-seed USC on Wednesday, March 8 at 8:30 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
