Haley Roy's first year with the Huskies saw her immediately become an integral part of Washington's vault team, adding her expertise on the floor to the mix as well. What are you most looking forward to this season?
This season I am looking forward to growing as a team inside and out of the gym. Freshman year was a blast and such an amazing year, I can't wait too take our drive and competitiveness to another level again!
Why did you choose UW?
I chose UW because it is an amazing school academically. Being a student-athlete here not only involves support with tutoring but how engaged our academic staff is in us succeeding. Also, the campus is absolutely gorgeous and brings a welcoming feeling.
What are your hobbies outside gymnastics?
I go on runs, spend time with my friends and team, and go and get coffee.
What's your favorite place to hang out in Seattle?
Either Pike Place Market or Gas Works Park.
How do you get ready for a meet?
I get ready for a meet by treating this day like every other day. It's just another practice or turn taken in the gym. It's the day where I focus my energy into the team. Coming together and getting it done is how we do it!
What are your goals this year?
To have a great year in the gym and as well in school. I want to push and strive further then I did last year.
What do you want to do after college?
After I graduate I plan on going into the FBI. I am unsure what field I would like to go into, but undercover is what I am interested in.
What is your favorite part of UW?
My team and the new opportunities that have opened up to me that I may have never experience if I didn't attend this school.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
The best advice I have ever been given was to never be satisfied with where your at. Always keep pushing to fix, change, or challenge yourself to be better than what you were.
What is your hidden talent?
My hidden talent is I can do a flip throw with a soccer ball.
