
Burr-Kirven, Rapp Earn Academic All-District 8

Two Washington football players – Ben Burr-Kirven and Taylor Rapp – have been named CoSIDA Academic All-District 8, the College Sports Information Directors of American announced today.
Burr-Kirven, a junior linebacker from Menlo Park, Calif., boasts a 3.58 grade point average as a comparative literature, cinema and media major. He was also named the All-District 8 team, as well as first-team Academic All-Pac-12, last year. Burr-Kirven leads the Huskies with 64 tackles, including four tackles for loss.
Rapp, a sophomore safety from Bellingham, Wash., made the team in his first season of eligibility (freshmen are not eligible for all-district honors). Recently admitted to the prestigious Foster School of Business, Rapp has compiled a 3.66 GPA. The 2016 Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, Rapp is second on the team with 46 tackles this season, with three and a half tackles for loss.
The District 8 team covers NCAA Division I athletes from college football programs in the states of Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. As All-District 8 honorees, Rapp and Burr-Kirven are now both eligible for Academic All-America.
