Husky rower begins competition in Rio on Friday.
The rowing competition at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro gets underway on Friday and Washington's Danielle Hansen will be there to represent the UW and the United States.

Hansen will row in the U.S. mixed leg, trunk and arms coxed four, which begins competition on Friday.

The U.S. boat (which also includes Jaclyn Smith, Jennifer Sichel, Zachary Burns and Dorian Weber) is one of 12 entries in the event. Heats are Friday, followed by repchages Saturday and both A and B finals on Sunday. The regatta will be held on the same body of the water, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, as the 2016 Olympics.
