
Summer Updates: Lee and Lu Top 15 at BC Amateur Championships and More

SEATTLE – Incoming freshman Henry Lee and junior Jordan Lu both posted top 15 finishes Friday at the 114th British Columbia Amateur Championship held at Pheasant Glen Golf Resort in Qualicum Beach, B.C., earning a spot in the 2016 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship next month.
Lee, who hails from Coquitlam, B.C. and is a part of the Class of 2016, finished with a 1-under 287 at the 72-hole stroke play event to tie for fifth. He opened the event with a 3-under 69 and followed it with a 1-over 73 to make the cut and advance to the third and fourth rounds. He finished with an even par 72 and 1-over 73 en route to his 1-under 287. The freshman will join the Dawgs this September.
Also finishing in the top 15 in Qualicum Beach was junior Lu (Vancouver, B.C.), who tied for 14th finishing at 3-over 291. Following his sophomore campaign where he posted five top 25 efforts, Lu carded rounds of 1-under 71, 3-over 75, 1-over 73 and closed with an even par 72 en route to his top 15 showing.
The Canadian Men's Amateur Championship takes place August 8th at Royal Ottaway Golf Club & Eagle Creek Golf Club in Gatineau, Quebec.
Some other future and current Huskies are also competing in events this summer as junior Frank Garber finished tied for 13th at the 113th Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship with his score of 4-over 284 (70-70-72-72). At the Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif. Additionally senior Corey Pereira finished tied for 31st with an 8-over 288 (71-70-78-69) on the par-70 course.
Incoming freshman Daniel List is currently competing at the 110th Southern Amateur Championship and currently sits tied for 10th heading into the second round, which was suspended due to weather at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
