Abbes Receives All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention

SEATTLE – The Pac-12 Conference announced their All-Pac-12 women's tennis team's today, with junior Nour Abbes receiving Honorable Mention.
Abbes transferred to UW this season from Xavier University of Louisiana where she won the NAIA National Championship last year, after winning 30 matches in a row.
In her first campaign with the Huskies the junior from Tunisia played a majority of her matches at the No. 1 court and held a 10-9 dual match singles record. Her biggest singles win came against Arizona, battling back to defeat No. 39 Lauren Marker 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to help give the Huskies the 4-3 win.
However, much of Abbes' success this season has come in doubles while paired with Miki Kobayashi. The duo currently rank 27th in the country by the ITA and have defeated two top-5 ranked opponents. Versus 27th ranked UCLA, Abbes and Kobayashi defeated No. 5 Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips and most recently took down No. 5 Taylor Davidson and Caroline Doyle in the Pac-12 Doubles Championship.
