Entries For 2016 IRAs Announced
May 17, 2016 | Men's Rowing
Washington will send five crews to the 2016 Intercollegiate Rowing Association June 3-5 in West Windsor, N.J. Today, the regatta's host, USRowing, announced the accepted entries for the 11 races.
The Huskies will compete in all five heavyweight events (there are also a total of six mens' and women's lightweight competitions): the first, second and third varsity eights, the freshman eight and the varsity four. Last year, the Huskies swept all five of those races, winning a fifth straight IRA championship (varsity eight) and a ninth consecutive Ten Eyck Trophy (overall points champion).
For the third year in a row, the IRA Regatta will be held on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J., one of the training sites for the USRowing program. At a later date, USRowing will release a schedule of races and progressions.
See the linked PDF for the full list of accepted crews and check out the USRowing IRA website for more.
