March 02, 2016 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE – UW gymnastics senior captain Allison Northey has been named the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week by the conference, following a 39.500 all-around score to win the all-around title at Arizona. It was the second-best all-around score of her career.
This is the first time that Northey has been named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week. In the GymDawgs' meet at Arizona, Northey won the vault, beam and floor titles and finished third on bars. Her 9.875 on vault tied her season-high and her 9.925 on beam set a new personal-best.
Northey is currently ranked No. 16 in the country as an all-arounder, the second-highest ranked all-arounder in the Pac-12. She set a new personal-best in the all-around at Utah earlier this season with a 39.550.
Northey's last Pac-12 weekly award came when she was named Freshman of the Week three times in 2013. She was named All-Pac-12 First Team as an all-arounder in 2014 as a sophomore and in 2015 as a junior.
