Washington and Starbucks Come Together for Special Husky Fan Appreciation Day Giveaway
November 18, 2016 | Football, General
SEATTLE – The first 40,000 fans entering the gates of Husky Stadium this Saturday, Nov. 19, will receive a complimentary UW branded Starbucks drinkware item. Fans will have the choice between a stainless steel tumbler or S'well water bottle, while supplies last.
"Being a flagship state university located within a major metropolitan market, we are extremely fortunate to have incredible local partnerships with global brands like Starbucks," Jennifer Cohen, UW Director of Athletics said. "Husky Stadium is known across the country as The Greatest Setting in College Football, and a huge part of that reputation is built on the tremendous home-field advantage we receive from our passionate fanbase. We are so excited to partner with Starbucks to thank and reward our passionate fans for their support and the impact they have on our team's performance."
In the midst of one of their most successful seasons in recent history, the Huskies, 9-1, face conference foe Arizona State at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. No. 6 Washington looks to clinch a berth in the Pac-12 Championship game with wins over ASU and Washington State in their final two regular season games.
"Starbucks is proud to work with the UW as we work to build a strong and enduring partnership rooted in shared values," said Erin Combs, who leads Starbucks Hometown Partnerships. "The young men and women that make up this institution represent the next generation of leaders that will help our communities thrive and endure. We could not be more proud of the Huskies and look forward to cheering them on at this weekend's game."
