
Schneider To Be Inducted Into NRF Hall of Fame

SEATTLE – Class of 1995 graduate Marcus Schneider will be inducted into the National Rowing Foundation Hall of Fame as part of the 1996 Olympic Bronze medal lightweight men's four. The 2016 induction class includes six boats, all of which won Olympic medals.
Schneider competed in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games as well as the 1995 and 1999 World Rowing Championships. He was a member of the U.S. National Team in 1995-96 and 1999-2000. He also won a gold medal in the lightweight coxless four at the 1999 Pan American Games.
Schneider competed at Washington from 1993 to 1995. He was part of the third-place varsity eight at the 1995 IRA National Championships and rowed with current UW men's crew head coach Michael Callahan. Schneider earned All-Pac-10 honors in 1995 as the Huskies won their sixth straight Pac-10 Championship in the varsity eight. Schneider also won a Pac-10 title in 1994 as a member of the second varsity eight.
The rest of the 2016 NRF Hall of Fame inductees are 1976 Olympic bronze medal women's eight and Olympic Silver medal men's pair, the 1996 Olympic Silver medal men's quad and Olympic Silver medal lightweight women's double, and the 2000 Olympic Bronze medal lightweight women's double.
