
Huskies Pick up Second-Straight Road Win with 6-1 Victory at San Diego

UW started the day off strong in doubles action as Angela Chen and Julija Lukac breezed to a 6-0 decision on court three. They quickly clinched the doubles point right after that on court two as Miki Kobayashi and Grace Ysidora earned a 6-1 win at number two doubles. The Huskies have now won the doubles point in six of their nine matches this season.
Singles action continued to play in the Huskies favor as the Dawgs extended their lead to 5-0 with wins on courts six, five, three and four. Capucine Gregoire picked up UW's first singles win as she swept Carly Naslund 6-0, 6-0 to give UW a 2-0 lead. Riko Shimizu followed suit on court five with an easy 6-2, 6-2 decision over Janine Koleta while Miki Kobayashi defeated Drew Spinosa, 6-3, 6-3 at number three singles to clinch the UW victory.
The Dawgs also got wins from Lukac on court six (7-6 (6), 6-0) and Grace Ysidora on court two who won a three-set tiebreaker 6-2, 6-7 (6), 1-0 (3).
The Huskies return home for their next match on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. to start a four-match home stead beginning with Sacramento State. UW has been on the road for their last eight matches after starting the spring season at home on Jan. 9.
