
Twelve Huskies Receive Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

SEATTLE — Washington men's soccer was well represented on the 2015 Pac-12 All-Academic teams with 12 honorees, as announced by the conference today. Sophomore defender Garret Jackson was named to the first team, while redshirt sophomore Beau Blanchard and junior Steven Wright were second team honorees. The Huskies also had nine players receive honorable mention recognition.
Jackson, the lone first team representative, holds a 3.60 GPA as a Pre-Social Science major. He played in seven games for the Huskies this season, including three starts. He recorded one goal on the season against San Diego State, scoring a header in the last two seconds, to earn Washington a 1-1 draw.
Blanchard, was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic second team with a 3.47 GPA as an Arts and Science Pre-Major. Blanchard was a main contributor for the Huskies this season at midfield, playing in all 19 games with eight starts and scoring two goals on the season.
Joining Blanchard on the second team, Wright holds a 3.50 GPA as a Biology (Physiology) major. The 6'5” midfielder also saw significant time on the field in 18 games, while starting seven and scoring once on the season.
The Huskies saw the bulk of their honorees land on the Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention. The nine Huskies are redshirt freshman Kyle Coffee, sophomore Justin Fiddes, redshirt sophomore Danny Gavin, redshirt freshman Luke Hauswirth, senior James Moberg, redshirt sophomore James Nosack, junior Jose Ocampo, redshirt junior Justin Schmidt, and sophomore Henry Wingo.
