| About This Week's Tournament |
This is the 11th Annual Gifford Collegiate hosted by UCLA. Last year, the Bruins won their home tournament played at CordeValle Golf Club with a score of 15-under 1,050. The individual champion was Dylan Wu of Northwestern who played to a score of 9-under 204. Overall, UCLA has five wins at its home tournament, which is the most. USC and Stanford have also won multiple times.
The Huskies did not play in last year's Gifford Collegiate. They last competed in 2013 Gifford at the Pelican Hill North Course, finishing fourth. That year, the Dawgs were led by Trevor Simsby who finished sixth at 2-under. Washington does have an individual champion at the Gifford Collegiate coming in 2008 when Nick Taylor tied Tim Sluiter of USC at 4-under when the tournament was played at CordeValle. Current Husky assistant coach Michael Wilson also won the Gifford back in 2005 when it was also at CordeValle, shooting 10-under for California.
