Lukac and Shimizu Claim Singles Titles at SDSU Fall Invite

In her bracket, Lukac breezed past UC Irvine's Mazy Watrous with a 6-2, 6-1 victory while Shimizu posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over Kat Facey (UC Irvine) in the white singles bracket. Also, Angela Chen took third in Shimizu's bracket after defeating SDSU's Jana Buth, 6-4, 6-4.
The Huskies also posted two doubles victories as Grace Ysidora and Angela Chen outlasted SDSU's Nguyen and Somoracz, 8-6, in the red doubles draw. Natalie Allen and Sophia Bott clinched the gold doubles title with a 8-6 win over Denver's Derbyshire and Genechten.
The tournament concludes UW's fall schedule with the next match taking place January 17 at Hawai'i.
