Born Mikhail Sayenko on July 12, 1984 ... was an All-West Region honoree after a top-25 finish at the 2001 Foot Locker Western Region cross-country meet ... took fourth at the state 3A cross-country championships in 2001, finishing in 16:11 ... was also the fourth-place finisher at the 2000 state 3A cross-country championships, in 16:31, just seven seconds off the winner's pace ... was third in the 3200m at the 2002 state 3A track championships, trailing only fellow Husky newcomers John Hickey and Stephen Mull ... also notched a seventh-place finish in the mile at the 2002 state meet, finishing in 4:19.89 ... as a junior, took fourth in the 3200m and ninth in the mile at the state track championships ... is the course record holder at Sammamish State Park.
