SEATTLE - In the only pre-season game for the UW men's soccer team in 2012, UW overcame a tough first half to score twice in the second half and gain valuable experience against a tough Simon Fraser team.
Senior Dylan Tucker-Gangnes got the Huskies on the board in the 56th minute by taking a penalty kick after a foul by SFU in the box.
Junior transfer Bradley McIntosh returned to the field for the first time in two years after transferring from UCLA and undergoing hip surgery. He scored the games' second goal in the 70th minute on an assist by junior Michael Harris.
Junior goalkeeper Spencer Richey made three saves in the game earning the start. Freshman Ryan Herman played the final nine minutes in goal.
A total of 11 Huskies put on the purple and gold uniform for the first time in what was a good mix of returners and newcomers as they got more confident as the game went on.
Please note that exhibition matches and results do not count towards a team or individuals season/career stats and records.
The Huskies begin the regular season next weekend by taking on Gonzaga and Cal Poly.
