PORTLAND, Ore. -- Grace Ysidora continued her great play at the USTA Collegiate Invitational, advancing through Red Robin play to the knockout stage.
Ysidora won her Round Robin match for the second straight day, this time defeating Mackenzie Craft of Georgia. Ysidora worked around a tough second set to defeat Craft, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
The win moved the Washington freshman to the elimination portion of the tournament, called the adidas Shootout. In this round, Ysidora took on No. 53 Lauren Herring of Georgia, falling 10-6 in an abbreviated match. Despite the loss, it was an encouraging tournament for the Jakarta, Indonesia native.
Also competing on Sunday were three other Huskies who fell in the Round Robin portion of the tournament. Julija Lukac, Andjela Nemcevic and Elianne Douglas-Miron all came up short in their matches.
The Dawgs will be back in action next weekend when they travel to the San Diego State Fall Classic. The tournament will take place November 9-11 at the SDSU Tennis Stadium.
