
Bryana Walker Impressive In First Win

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – The No. 7/9 Husky softball team survived being no-hit after the first three innings against Fordham to earn their 10th victory of the year by a score of 2-0. Washington improves to 2-0 at the Cathedral City Classic and will play two games on Friday vs. Cal State Fullerton at 6 p.m. and UMass at 8:30 p.m.
Freshman Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) made her first appearance of the year in the circle, earning the win. She pitched 4.0 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.
Sophomore Baily Harris (Longview, Wash.) got the start, allowing four hits in 1 1/3 innings. Junior Jenna Clifton (Glendale, Ariz.) pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief, allowing just one hit.
Senior Jenn Salling (Port Coquitlam , B.C.) led off the fourth inning with a double to left center. Junior Morgan Stuart (Riverside, Calif.) drove Salling in with a bunt single down the third base line.
The Huskies got their second run in the fifth. Junior Kimi Pohlman (Sammamish, Wash.) reached base on a fielder's choice and scored on a triple to right field by Salling.
