PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Husky senior Denise Dy's first tournament of the season wrapped up today, as she fell in the consolation semifinals at the ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club. Over the past three days, the two-time All-American was 2-2 in singles matches.
Dy struggled out of the gates today against 17th-ranked Mallory Burdette of Stanford. Despite picking things up in the second set, Dy could not turn the match around, and fell, 6-0, 6-4.
After a tough opening round loss on Thursday to 10th-ranked Marta Lesniak of SMU, Dy came back with victories over 39th-ranked Leslie Hureau of Indiana and 53rd-ranked Kate Turvy of Northwestern on Friday.
Her next action will be the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, beginning October 21, which will also mark the first action for the rest of the Husky women's team.
