"We had a decent day. We really wanted to come out and play the front well. We thought that if we could play the front well, we knew we would make some birdies on the back nine and we could catch the leaders. We didn't play the front well and went the first two hours of the day without a birdie. We were struggling. It was really, really early for us back home and the guys looked like they were dragging. We couldn't make a putt and things weren't going our way. Fortunately, we hung in there a little bit and made some birdies in the mid-stretch. Still (the players) aren't going to be real thrilled with the way they played overall. But, it was an okay day and that is fine right now. I don't think we shot ourselves out of it. Unfortunately, I think we distanced ourselves a little bit in the wrong direction from the leaders. But, they are still within reach."
Washington Junior Chris Killmer
"I played pretty well starting off. But, I found some trouble on number five. I hit it in the water and made a double (bogey). But, I stayed pretty calm and made a good couple of pars getting through that tough stretch at six and seven. I played the tough stretch, essentially, two-over. My main goal for this week was to be patient. I stayed patient today and birdies came on 11 and 13. Then, I went to the break with a good drive in the middle of the fairway at one-over. Then, I left two shots out to the right to get two bogeys in a row to go to three over. But, I stayed patient and made a birdie on 17, which is one of the toughest holes on the back to kind of salvage a decent round. I'd say the break affected me a little bit. I was really getting into a rhythm, even though I had a bogey right before the break. I really came out of it wanting to go out there and get it back. I don't think too many (teammates) were going to be too affected by (the delay). We dealt with it all last week in Kentucky. I guess it could hurt teams with a bit of momentum. It took us a while to get our first birdie of the day. But, once we did everybody kind of unknowingly followed. We are playing good golf. We are just making too many mistakes, making too many doubles. We just need to clean it up a little bit for tomorrow. It we play Washington golf, we should be able to finish near the leaders tomorrow."
Washington Junior Richard Lee
"I definitely hit the ball a little better (today). I kept it in the fairway more often, which makes (scoring) a lot easier. Yesterday, I struggled with keeping it in the fairway and that contributed to me making some bogeys. I avoided the big numbers today. I had a couple of double bogey's yesterday. Today, I did my best to stay away from the big numbers. Overall, I thought I played pretty smart out there. (Going into the break) I was on 13 green just about to hit my fourth shot. (The break) was long. We ate lunch, sat around and watched some tv. Some guys on the other teams were playing cards. We were just trying to kill some time. We are going to be there tomorrow. We are going to have a chance to get the number one seed (heading into Friday's match play). I think we are going to have a good chance to move up the leaderboard. Nick (Taylor) is, obviously, a really good player. He is always really consistent. He has been playing great golf this year and I think he has a great chance to win tomorrow."
