Washington Head Coach Heather Tarr
Opening Statement
"Georgia is obviously a very, very tough team for them to come back and beat us the first game and then stay in the game with us for seven tough innings (in the second game). They wouldn't go down. We couldn't get them down and they stayed alive. We're just fortunate that we were able to execute in the seventh inning."
On playing host to a Super Regional at home in Seattle
"We haven't hosted an NCAA tournament in Seattle since 2000 - seven years. We were due. Whether we're supposed to be the higher seed than Alabama, it doesn't matter. But Seattle deserves to watch this team play. (Our fans) need to come watch this team."
On Georgia pitcher Kasi Carroll
"She's a good pitcher, and she hits her spots. We were trying to figure out the right approach for her - be aggressive early. I guess we figured it out - hit the ball."
Sophomore pitcher Danielle Lawrie
On playing a Super Regional at home
"It's awesome. It's a different atmosphere when you get to play at home. Your family gets to come watch, and it's a great feeling. It's comforting - our own locker room, our own music, our own dugout - everything is natural. We're practicing there all week, so it's a great feeling."
On Georgia's Megan McAllister hitting a game-winning home run in the first game
"Hats off. She's a senior, and she hit a pitch that I left (over the plate). That's what you're supposed to do. Congratulations to her. That was a great hit."
Sophomore catcher Alicia Matthews
On setting up for her game-winning hit
"I just went up there and got on the plate because she had been beating me outside and hadn't come inside all day. I got as close to the plate as I could and stuck my bat out there."
Georgia Head Coach Lu Harris-Champer
On the game
"It was really like one big game this afternoon, and I'm really proud of our team and the heart they came out with. I thought we had a chance to win. We played defense today and it really helped."
On the effort of her team
"We played great, and I'm so proud of our team. They came out here and gave everything they had. We were very resilient and turned a bad day into a good one. We just didn't stress over it and we were able to come out here and play ball. We did the things we needed to do to put ourselves in a position to win, but we just couldn't pull it off today."
Sophomore Infielder Kristin Schnake
On the loss
"The loss is disappointing, but the biggest thing is our seniors. They're a great group of people to play with and my heart goes out to them because I wanted them to keep the season going. I still have two more years left."
