Point Roberts, Wash. - The Husky men's golf team leads the UBC Thunderbird Invitational at the Point Roberts Golf Course in Point Roberts, Wash. after the first two rounds, led by freshmen Nick Taylor and Darren Wallace. Taylor shot a course-record 68 during the first round, carding a two-round total of 142 for the tournament lead after day one.
Wallace sits in second after the first two rounds, recording a 148 through two rounds. Sophomore Kellen Eakin also landed in the top five, carding a 152 for a fourth place tie. Freshman Chris Evans sits in seventh place, at 154.
The Huskies lead second-place UBC by 22 strokes, carding a two-round total of 596. Washington tees off Saturday, Oct. 7 in search of their first team tournament title of the 2006-07 season.
