Lepp One Shot Off Lead at Preview

Sunriver, OR - Washington senior James Lepp is one stroke off the lead after the first round of play at the PING/Golfweek Fall Preview being held at the Crosswater Course in Sunriver, Ore. Lepp, the 2005 NCAA Champion, shot 2-under 70 and trails a trio of players tied for first at 69.
Lepp was the only Husky who managed to break par at the tournament that features nine of the top-10 teams in the nation. Alex Prugh is in 16th place after shooting 73 while Joe Panzeri is 43rd at 76. Erik Olson and Sterling Clark both carded 79s to tie for 61st.
Defending NCAA champion Georgia owns a six-shot lead after Monday's first round. The Bulldogs shot 4-under 284 behind freshman Brian Harman's 69. Harman shares the individual lead with UNLV's Seung-su Han and Kentucky's Andy Winings.
The Huskies, ranked ninth, are 12th at 10-over 298. The Huskies are only four shots out of fifth place on the tightly-packed leaderboard.

Husky B-Squad in 13th Place at Western Washington Invite
The four members of the Husky golf team not competing at the Fall Preview are playing in the Western Washington Invitational in Bellingham. Zach Bixler had the best round among the UW competitors by shooting 72-75 to be in 21st place at 3-over 147. John Wise also shot 147 with identical rounds of 72 and 75. Seth Yates is 37th at 150 (74-76) and Kellen Eakin is 57th at 154 (80-74).
