Dockendorf Wins All-Around in Three-Team Meet

Seattle - Husky senior Carly Dockendorf won three individual titles on Friday night and the Huskies finished third in a tri-team meet on Friday night at Bank of America Arena. The 21st-ranked Oregon State Beavers (6-3) scored a season-high 195.975 and set season-highs on bars, vault, and beam to finish first overall. No. 12 Arkansas (4-3) was second with 195.550, while the Huskies (8-3) were third despite scoring a season-high 195.275.
After the first rotation, the Huskies led the three-team meet, thanks to a season-high 49.175 on vault. The Beavers were close on their heals thanks to a season-high 49.075 on bars. Freshman Natalie Gillan paced the Huskies on vault scoring a career-best and Husky season-high 9.900 to finish second. Husky redshirt-freshman Nikki Waiss was fifth-overall, posting a 9.850. Oregon State's Megan Devencenzi won vault with a 9.925.
The Huskies next moved to bars, where Dockendorf scored a 9.900 to win the event. Oregon State's Therese Videan also scored a 9.900 for OSU, to tie Dockendorf for first place. The Huskies Tacia LaBatte nailed her bars routine to score a season-best 9.850.
The Huskies struggled on beam, their third event of the evening, having to count a fall toward their team score. Arkansas won the event with a 48.925, paced by Katie Hardman 9.850. Hardman tied OSU's Chrissy Lamun for the individual title.
The Huskies bounced back on floor, taking the team title with a 49.050. Dockendorf recorded a 9.925 to take first, while teammate Chelsea Bakken scored a 9.875 to finish second overall.
"We are getting cleaner and better," said Husky Head Coach Bob Levesque. "But the falls on bars and beam were our undoing tonight. The last two meets we haven't had to count any falls, so that was the biggest difference tonight. But as long as we are improving and progressing every meet, we are doing what I'm looking for."
Dockendorf now has 43 career individual event titles, moving her into sole possession of fifth-most all-time in Husky history.
The Huskies return to action on Sunday, Feb. 13 at No. 5 UCLA.
