Seattle - The 18th-ranked Washington women's gymnastics team (4-1) utilized a solid performance on beam to beat the pre-season No. 3 Stanford Cardinal (0-1) 192.825-192.425 in front of 1,819 fans at Bank of America Arena on Friday night. Stanford's Liz Tricase won the all-around (39.050), aided by first-place finishes on vault (9.850) and bars (9.825).

"The girls did a great job tonight," said Coach Bob Levesque. "They were a lot more aggressive on beam tonight and they just sucked it up and did a great job."
The Huskies were without their top overall performer, Carly Dockendorf, and their most consistent beam performer, Molly Seaman, who both sat out with injuries.
