Seattle - Washington senior Emily Pritchard (Buckley) made sure her Senior Night performance would be something to remember. The Husky standout won the vault, bars, balance beam and all-around titles, tying school records in the process, to help eighth-ranked Washington sweep a three-way meet with Boise State and Seattle Pacific at Bank of America Arena. The Huskies scored 198.025 while the Bronocs finished second at 195.575. The Falcons were third at 193.500.
Washington's team score was the best in school history. The Huskies also set school scoring marks on bars (49.675), beam (49.500) and floor exercise (49.675). Pritchard's all-around score was 39.875, bettering the 39.825 she set last week to tie the school record.
"They got the job done tonight," said Husky coach Bob Levesque. "If can just stay healthy for Pac-10s, it looks really good. Luckily we have a week off after the conference meet before the NCAA Regional. We need that time to heal some small injuries."
The top-ranked gymnast in the nation on uneven bars, Pritchard posted her second perfect score of the season on the event. Her performance helped Washington to set a school record on bars with a team score of 49.675. Carly Dockendorf posted a 9.975 and Kelly McDonald added a 9.950 score to boost the record-setting total.
"It was bitter-sweet," Pritchard said. "I could not have ended my home career on a better note."
Pritchard tied the school record on beam with a 9.975 as the Huskies reset their high mark on the event with a 49.500. Pritchard was one of four UW gymnasts to score at least 9.9 on beam. Molly Seaman placed second on the event with a 9.950 while Dockendorf and Kelly McDonald shared third place honors with identical 9.900 scores. Washington entered the meet ranked eighth in the nation on uneven bars.
It took a perfect routine by Dockendorf on floor exercise to prevent Pritchard from sweeping the event titles. Dockendorf's 10 was her second this year on floor. Pritchard and Dockendorf's perfect marks gave Washington a total of six this year, the most ever recorded by a Husky team in a season.
The victories improved Washington's record to 11-5-1. Boise State finishes its regular season at 7-13 and Seattle Pacific's record dropped to 5-14.
The meet was the final home competition for Washington seniors Amy Metcalf and Pritchard. The Huskies start postseason competition Saturday at the Pac-10 Championships host by Arizona.
