Pritchard Helps UW Gymnasts to Tie at Arizona

Tucson - The 16th-ranked Washington women's gymnastics team (6-3-1) tied 15th-ranked Arizona (6-2-1) in Tucson. Both teams scored 197.300. Washington's total was the best road score in the program's history.
Washington was led by senior Emily Pritchard (Buckley), who set a personal best by winning the all-around with a score of 39.725. It is the second-best all-around score in Washington history. Pritchard took top honors on vault (9.950) and recorded a career high with a 9.975 to finish first on beam. Ranked No. 1 in the nation on uneven bars, she tied for second on that event with a 9.900 and was fourth on floor with a 9.900.
Carly Dockendorf also picked up a pair of first-place finishes. She won the bars with a score of 9.925 and tied for top honors on floor with a 9.950. Dockendorf was third in the all-around with a score of 39.450.
The Huskies won the bars and beam competition while the Wildcats finished first on vault and floor.
"The gymnasts really had a great night," said Husky coach Bob Levesque. "I think this is the first time I have seen them go 24 for 24. No one missed a routine. It was the type of score we needed on the road this season."
The Huskies made a scoring appeal for on beam that would have given them the victory, but following a judges conference, the score was not change. The tie was only the second in Washington's history. Washington tied Utah during the 2001 season.
Next week Washington faces third-ranked UCLA at 7 p.m. at Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
