
Husky Gymnasts Compete at NCAAs

Lincoln, NE - Three members of the Washington women's gymnastics team competed during the first day at the NCAA Championships at Nebraska. Competing in the all-around, Tacia LaBatte placed 18th overall during the morning session with a score of 38.700. Carly Dockendorf was 22nd during the same session with a score of 38.450. Neither gymnast placed in the top four of any apparatus to automatically qualify for Sunday's event finals.
Dockendorf came the closest to advancing by scoring a 9.850 on floor to tie for sixth. She was 19th on bars (9.750), 29th on vault (9.675) and 40th on beam (9.150). Labatte's best finish was on bars where she scored a 9.725 to place 23rd. She was 25th on beam at 9.750, 35th on vault (9.625) and 37th on floor exercise (9.600).
Husky senior Stacy Wong competed only on the beam and scored 9.775 to place 20th.
During the morning session's team scoring, UCLA (196.950), Alabama (196.775) and Michigan (196.125) advanced to Friday's Super Six competition. Arizona State was fourth during the session with a score of 194.225. LSU was fifth at 194.000 and Iowa was sixth at 193.825.
