Husky Gymnasts Upset No. 9 Oregon State

Seattle - Sophomore Carly Dockendorf scored a perfect 10 on floor exercise to lead the 12th-ranked women's gymnastics team to a victory in a four-way meet at Hec Edmundson Pavilion at Bank of America Arena. The Huskies scored 197.050, the second best total in school history, to upset ninth-ranked Oregon State. The Beavers finished second at 196.475. Boise State was third at 194.575 and Sacramento State was fourth at 191.775.
Dockendorf's score was the eighth perfect score in UW history and the fifth time it has happened on floor exercise. It also helped the Huskies set a school record on floor with a score of 49.550.
The Huskies swept all four events led by freshman Kelly McDonald, who had career high scores on vault (9.975) and bars (9.950) to take first place in those events. Husky senior Stacy Wong tied her career high on beam to win that event at 9.950.
Washington set a season high on bars with a score of 49.475 to take the lead in the meet after the second rotation. After having to count a fall during the beam, the Huskies entered the final rotation holding a slim .15 lead over the Beavers.
Oregon State's Lindsay Nelson won the all-around with a score of 39.475. Dockendorf was third in the all-around at 39.350. She finished third on bars (9.900) and fourth on beam (9.825) during the meet.
Husky sophomore Tacia LaBatte tied her season high on bars with a 9.850 and senior Tanya Powers set a career high on the same event with a 9.875.
The Huskies travel to fifth-ranked Utah Friday. It will mark the eighth opponent Washington has faced this year that is ranked in the current top-10 poll.
