Husky Golfers Stay Seventh at Pac-10s

Walla Walla, WA - The Washington women's golf team remains in seventh place after 36 holes of play at the Pac-10 Championships at Walla Walla Golf Club. Washington shot 303 during Tuesday's second round, the third best team score of the day, but failed to move up in the standings following Monday's opening round of 309.
Defending champion Arizona saw its lead drop to just three strokes in the windy conditions after the Wildcats shot 304 during the second round for a two-day total of 597. UCLA, with a 299, moved into second place at 600. USC shot 308 to drop back to third place at 605.
Washington sophomore Lindsay Morgan, playing on her home course, shot even par 72 on Tuesday to move into sixth place with a 36-hole total of 4-over 148. UCLA's Yvonne Choe improved her lead to two strokes in the race for medalist honors. Choe carded an even-par 72 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 143. Arizona's Lorena Ochoa shot 73 to move into a tie for second at 145 with USC's Mikaela Parmlid. Arizona State's Jimin Kang and Arizona's Laura Myerscough are tied for fourth at 146.
Washington's other scores included a 79 by Louise Friberg to place her in 13th at 153. Husky All-American Kelli Kamimura rallied for a 75 on Tuesday to stand 22nd at 155. Michelle Grafos is 34th at 159 and Paige Mackenzie is 42nd at 161. Bianca Clark, competing as an independent, is 55th at 170.
The final round of the championship will be held Wednesday.
