Husky Women's Golfers Finish 12th at Arizona Invitational

Tucson, AZ - The Washington women's golf team finished 12th at the 18-team Arizona Invitational with a 54-hole score of 920. Duke won the team title with a score of 876 at The Raven Golf Club. Auburn and Arizona tied for second at 883.
Washington carded a 314 in the second round, which had to be completed Tuesday morning due to darkness during Monday's play. The Huskies fired a 308 during the final 18 holes of play Tuesday afternoon.
Washington was led by senior All-American Kelli Kamimura, who tied for 36th overall at 228. Kamimura shot 77 and 75 during her final two rounds. Arizona's Loren Ochoa won medalist honors with a 9-under 207. The victory was Ochoa's sixth consecutive tournament win. Tennessee's Tina Schneeberger was second overall at 4-under 212.
Louise Friberg was the Huskies second-best finisher, posting scores of 80 and 73 during the final 36 holes for a total of 229. She was 39th overall. Michelle Grafos placed 65th at 236 and Paige Mackenzie was 71st at 238. Lindsay Morgan, who led Washington after the first round with an opening score of 72, faded to 74th overall with rounds of 81 and 86 for a 239.
The Huskies return to action next week when they compete at the Spartan Invitational on March 4-6.
