
Husky Golfers in Second Place at Stanford Invitational

Stanford, CA - The 13th-ranked Washington women's golf team is two strokes off the lead after the first round of play at the Stanford Invitational. The Huskies turned in an opening-round score fo 295 and trail UCLA by two shots. California is third at 296 followed by Vanderbilt at 302.
The Huskies were led by Louise Friberg who shot even-par 72 to tie for fifth overall. She is just one stroke behind four players tied for first place. Husky freshman Sung Ea Lee turned in her best collegiate round, shooting 1-over 73 to tie for seventh. Lindsay Morgan is tied for 11th at 74. Paige Mackenzie carded a 76 to place 28th and Michelle Grafos shot 79 to finish 43.
The tournament resumes Saturday and the final 18 holes will be played Sunday.
