UW Golfers Set Record at Stanford Intercollegiate

Stanford, CA - The Washington women's golf team turned in a final-round score of 291 to finish fourth at the Stanford Intercollegiate with a 54-hole total of 874. Washington's three-round total bettered the existing school record for a 54-hole score by 16 strokes. Washington's previous best tournament score was an 890, recorded twice during the 2001 spring season.
Tulsa ran away with the team title with a 9-under score of 855. USC and Vanderbilt tied for second at 872, two strokes better than the Huskies.
Washington senior Kelli Kamimura shot 68 during the final 18 holes to move up to sixth place in the final individual standings. Kamimura finished at 4-under 212.
Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh won medalist honors by turning in a final round score of 67 to finish at 203. Her 54-hole total of 13-under par was a Stanford Golf Course record. Arizona State's Jimin Kang, who led after the first two rounds, shot 72 to finish at 206.
Washington junior Louise Friberg shot 74 on Sunday to finish 15th oveall at 219. Husky freshman Paige Mackenzie turned in a final-round score of 72 to place 17th at 220. Lindsay Morgan was 30th at 224 and Bianca Clark was 40th at 227. Michelle Grafos, playing as an unattached competitor, was 80th at 242.
The Stanford Intercollegiate was Washington's last tournament of the fall season. The Huskies resume play Feb. 18-19 at the Lady Aztec Invitational.
