Gaskin Named Preseason Candidate For Doak Walker Award

Myles Gaskin has been named as a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation's top college running back.

Gaskin, a senior from Lynnwood, Wash., is the nation's top returning rusher in terms of career yards, with 4,055 yards, just 51 yards shy of the Husky career record. He already owns the UW record with 45 career rushing TDs and has topped 1,300 yards in each of his three seasons as the Huskies' top back.

Monday, Gaskin was named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award.

Washington's Greg Lewis won the Doak Walker Award in 1990, the first year it was presented.
