2/14/2023
Exploring Our Past, Celebrating Our Present
On Friday, Feb. 17, Washington women's basketball will be wearing the uniforms at home in Alaska Airlines Arena vs. Oregon State. On Saturday, Feb. 18, the men's team will wear the uniforms also vs. Oregon State.

The Story Behind The Uniform
These uniforms are about respect and acknowledgement to the Black leaders and influencers of the past, while celebrating and showing love to those history makers of today and tomorrow and giving them their flowers while they’re still here.

The theme “Flowers While They're Still Here” honors Black history while also honoring Black excellence by showing love and acknowledgment to Black leaders and influencers of today and tomorrow. This theme carries over from last season, and was chosen to show appreciation and gratitude for Black culture and the achievements of Black individuals.

The color palette is grounded in Washington's team colors, but with a unique twist on the base color.
The cream base color is symbolic of the “Cream of the Planet” while the flower detail plays off “Flowers While They're Still Here.”
The season colors are inspired by flowers native to the area to create distinctive, vibrant color schemes. Fittingly, the flowers represented on Washington's uniforms are cherry blossoms.
