Marin Grote
Fifth-Year Senior
2021 Key Stats: 2.13 kills/set | .415 Att % | 1.05 blocks/set
2021 Second Team All-American
“Never satisfied, Marin Grote. She has a clear vision for her future and she’s intent on getting there. She’ll leave no stone unturned as she moves towards bigger goals. She’ll graduate in December and pursue a professional career, and she really is trying to max out everything she does offensively and defensively in this last year. So there is a very sharp focus and intensity about how she’s going about this training camp and what I expect from her this season.”
Sophie Summers
Fourth-Year Sophomore
2021 Key Stats: 56 kills | .489 Att % | 0.64 blocks/set
“Sophie is a rare and outstanding student-athlete and teammate in this day and age. She’s trusted in the learning process and that her moment would come. Certainly we saw in the spring and on the foreign trip, that she’s been preparing for an expanded role for some time. She’s a fourth-year sophomore, which is something I never thought I would say, but all signs point to her really meeting this opportunity here to show what she’s been working at for a number of years.”

Elise Hani
Freshman
“Elise has been around our program a long time and is finally here. It’s a wonderful opportunity to have a local athlete join us. She has an opportunity to work with two other great middles. But we only have three at that position, so I’ve talked to her about how this isn’t just a hang out situation, we’re going to need her to be prepared to come in at any moment. The season’s long, her journey starts now. Certainly she’s extremely important to our future but she’s got to be ready to go as soon as possible. We like what we see early on, especially in the blocking space from her.”
