Cook Rounds Out Staff With New And Familiar Faces

SEATTLE – Eighth-year Husky Head Coach Keegan Cook has completed Washington's 2022 coaching staff with three recent additions. Along with Associate Head Coach Leslie Gabriel and Assistant Coach Jason Mansfield, the Huskies have welcomed in a pair of experienced newcomers in Director of Operations Phil Noyes and Volunteer Assistant Alex Simons. Cook is also thrilled to have former Husky Justice Magraw moving into a new position with the program as the team's Technical Director.

Justice Magraw
Technical Director - Full Bio
Former Husky letterwinner Justice Magraw returns to the program in a new role for 2022, taking over as the Technical Coordinator. Magraw, who graduated in 2015 as part of the winningest class in school history, has several years of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and club levels to utilize for the benefit of the Washington players.
As Technical Coordinator, her tasks will include statistical tracking and analysis of practices and match-play, as well as assisting with scouting reports, and managing all video assets.
Coach Cook: “Technical coordinator has become increasingly important in our sport and Justice brings a background of expertise from a player, to a coach, and now a teacher on the technical side. I’m excited for us and for her to grow into the position.”

Alex Simons
Volunteer Assistant – Full Bio
An experienced local high school and club coach with a highly successful career in the tech world, Alex Simons joins the Washington program in 2022 as the team’s volunteer assistant coach.
Simons has fifteen years of coaching experience, with eleven of those coming at Sudden Impact Volleyball Club in Bellevue, Wash., where he also serves on the Board of Directors. He also was an assistant high school coach for six years. Simons has coached every age group from 11 to 18. Thirty athletes coached by Simons have gone on to compete at the NCAA Div. I level, including four past or current Huskies.
Simons is taking a sabbatical from his full-time employment at Microsoft, where he works as the Corporate Vice President of Product Management for the Identity and Access Management Division at Microsoft.
Coach Cook: "Alex is an exceptional leader in the professional world in which he operates, and also an experienced coach with a background in teaching at a high level," said Husky Head Coach Keegan Cook. "He brings new ideas in volleyball and in leadership in a professional space."

Phil Noyes
Director of Operations - Full Bio
Phil Noyes came to Washington in the spring of 2022 to serve as the Director of Operations for the indoor and beach programs. A native of Los Angeles, Noyes spent the previous six years working for USA Volleyball as the Coordinator for the Beach National Teams, including traveling to international competitions including the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.
He will work with the Washington coaching staff to manage all program operations including travel, budgeting, scheduling, fundraising and recruiting, among other responsibilities.
Coach Cook: “Phil comes from USA Volleyball and is an exceptional logistical problem-solver who has Olympics experience and knows how to operate an organization at a high level.”
