Honoring Black Excellence Uniforms
2/23/2022
The Honoring Black Excellence uniforms from adidas celebrate Black History Month by honoring the past and celebrating the future.
The theme ‘Flowers While They’re Here' honors Black history while also honoring Black excellence by showing love and acknowledgment to Black leaders and influencers of today and tomorrow.

On Thursday, Washington women's basketball will be wearing the uniforms on the road at California (Feb. 24, 2022).

The color palette is grounded in Washington's team colors, but with a unique twist on the base color.
The palettes are filled out with seasonal colors inspired by flowers native to the area to create distinctive, vibrant color schemes. Fittingly, the flowers represented on Washington's uniforms are cherry blossoms.
‘Flowers While They're Here’ plays off “giving people their flowers,” and was chosen to show appreciation and gratitude for Black culture and the achievements of Black individuals.
